5 Things To Do This Labor Day Weekend

It's Labor Day this Monday, and while for most this means a nice long work-free weekend, it also signifies that unfortunately summer is nearing it's end. Rest easy, however, because not all hope is lost. Take a look at these 5 things to do over this Labor Day weekend while you're relaxing and take advantage before it's too late:

1. Run Through the Sprinklers

Go ahead. You're never too old to take advantage of this joyful, child-like activity. We're sure it'll make you feel more youthful, if even for a second!

2. Embrace the Great Outdoors

If you don't remember the last time you went on a camping outing then you're probably overdue. Venture into the wilderness for some hiking, campfires, and s'mores. If you're looking for a vehicle to help get you there then check out what we've got in stock at http://www.sheehyspringfieldvw.com/

3. Sleep Under the Stars

This can be an addendum to your camping outing, or you can do it from the comfort of your own yard! Pitch a tent or just camp out in a sleeping bag or on a blanket and enjoy what the night sky has to offer!

4. Take a Long Drive

No destination in mind, just get in the car, roll the windows down, and go. Great for enjoying nice weather and helping clear your mind for awhile.

5. BBQ

Realistically this should already be on the agenda for your labor day weekend. Invite the family and/or neighbors over and have everyone bring a dish and have a delicious potluck and enjoy your Labor Day with good company!

Hope everyone has a safe and relaxing holiday!

How Is Your Climate Affecting Your Battery?

It's summer, which for most means BBQs, swimming pools, frozen treats, and other activities that involve both enjoying the outdoors while also staying cool. But did you know that your car's battery is not much different? Whereas you can take a refreshing dip in a swimming pool or find a nice place with some AC, your car and it's power source can hardly afford the same luxury (we don't recommend trying to cool your car off in a pool).

What can you do about it? While the obvious answer is clearly to keep your vehicle out of direct sunlight and parked in shade and cool areas as often as possible, there are other ways of being proactive, like being familiar with the life expectancy of your battery and knowing how the heat can affect it and when to replace it.

Check out the graphic below to figure out the life expectancy of your car's battery and be sure to stop in with our dealership if you feel you might be needing a new battery soon, because nothing is worse than being stuck out in the heat wit ha dead battery! http://www.sheehyspringfieldvw.com/
